Born 2 Help, a volunteer-based group, saw the light of the day in the year 2015 with an aim to provide better living to children across slums in India. Since then, there has been no turning back and Born 2 Help spread its wings to cover a wide range of socio-economical issues in the country.
With only a few handful of volunteers at the inception in Bangalore, Born 2 Help has grew on exponentially with over 150 volunteers and 100 regular donors across 4 different cities- Bangalore, Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Kharagpur and Adopted one Tribal Village Bhelai Juri in West Bengal. Born 2 Help follows a ‘no-money’ ethic; which means money is not directly collected from the donors, rather requirements like stationery, Sanitary Pads, blankets, medicines, grocery etc are communicated through a social media chat room. This lets the donors leave with a satisfaction that their hard-earned and well-intentioned donation is utilised for the needy.

Special Development program for different Tribal groups is another prime focus for this team.

Various Initiatives:
Samatva- Free of Cost informal school over the weekend for underprivileged children. Born 2 Help conducts Basic Hygiene Session for kids and provide Hygiene kit also monthly- Kharagpur, Jamshedpur, Bangalore and Kolkata across multiple slums. They have more than 500 students across the 4 cities and a database recording the details of more than 1000 children together with their educational accomplishments.
Janani- The initiative aims at supporting Pregnant women with proper food, medicines and doctor consultation. The volunteers conduct monthly Menstrual Hygiene Session for adolescent girls and women, distribute Sanitary napkins in Kharagpur, Kolkata and Bangalore together with education on safe and hygienic disposal of sanitary napkins. More than 400 women are covered in monthly drive.
Arogya- Free of Cost clinic for homeless and underprivileged. Regular clinic set up in Kharagpur railway station for the cause. Another group of volunteers with the same clinic goes to different villages and multiple locations in Kharagpur for free medical treatment. Free medicines also provided. 6 Doctor volunteers are associated with this initiative. The initiative has been recently acclaimed by Business Standard newspaper.
Project Sindhu- Born 2 Help has gone a step further by adopting an Adivasi Village and is working for overall development including skill development and medical camps. Adopted an Adivasi Sabar Village in Jhargram West Bengal (locally called ‘Bhelai Juri’) working here relentlessly from the past 1 year.
The Hunger Warriors- Born 2 Help volunteers distribute Freshly Cooked homemade Food across Kharagpur in multiple slums. The biweekly activity distributes more than 1500 packets every week.
Annapurna- One that is very close to heart for Founder Barun Paul, under project Annapurna free food is served outside OPD of Kharagpur Sub-divisional hospital for people who come for a treatment every Saturday. Each time, more than 450 people are served with freshly prepared food free of cost.
Khwahish- Heard of a shop where you can buy not by money but by a smile? Here’s Born2 Help’s project Khwahish for you! It’s a free shop where anyone can come in and buy a piece of clothing just with a smile. Currently the initiative is active in Kolkata, Kharagpur and Jamshedpur.
Drona- Under project Drona, Born 2 Help provides free tuitions for the students who cannot afford private tuition. With a network of Private Tutors created in Kharagpur to support underprivileged students, Drona is growing with 20 tutors and more volunteering to join in.
Walkathon- Walk for hope- It is a biggest Walkathon in Kharagpur. It’s fund raiser for cancer patients conducted on every World Cancer Day. “In the past Three years we have raised 12 lac and supported 35 patients for their treatment”
Voice For Voiceless- Support provided for Street Dogs and also help Adoption Process. Work for Animal Rights
Apart from these, it does not stop just there for Born 2 Help and their team of enthusiastic volunteers! Regular rescue operations are carried out for anyone in need in Kharagpur and Jamshedpur.
Story Telling and Street Play are going to be the two areas through which Born 2 help is going to convey the message to the children and society.
